Whistleblowing
What can be reported?
Finnvera’s Whistleblowing channel allows its customers, employees and other stakeholders to report any suspected cases of misconduct or violations of Finnvera's operating principles to Finnvera for internal investigation.
A suspected violation can be a serious violation of the law or some other serious violation of Finnvera’s ethical guidelines that may have a detrimental impact on Finnvera or its customers and partners. These include receiving a gift/courtesy that violates Finnvera’s guidelines, misusing insider information, disclosing of customer information to third parties without separate justification, or situations where a person is disqualified from the decision-making process.
All reports are processed confidentially
The whistleblowing channel has been implemented technically in such a way that a person who submits a report cannot be identified if they wish to remain anonymous. All reports are processed confidentially by a limited group of processors who will protect the privacy of both the person who submitted the report and the person named in the report. The processing of personal data complies with the obligations laid down in the General Data Protection Regulation (2016/679). All messages submitted through the form are sent to Finnvera via a secure email connection.

How a report and its investigation will progress
When we receive a report of a suspected case of misconduct related to Finnvera, we will send a notification of receipt to the person who submitted the report within seven days at the latest (if they provided their contact information). After this, we will launch an internal investigation at Finnvera to investigate the accuracy of the report and, if necessary, take the necessary measures to address the violation. At the same time, we will also assess whether the Act on the Protection of Persons Reporting Infringements of European Union and National Law (1171/2022, the Whistleblower Protection Act) and the obligations related to it apply to the report and the person who submitted it.
More information on whistleblower protection
If necessary, Finnvera may contact the person who submitted the report to ask additional questions related to the matter, provided that the person gave their contact information. In matters covered by the Whistleblower Protection Act, we will inform the person who reported the matter (and provided their contact information) about the measures that have been taken within three months of the notification of receipt.
