FAQ – Starting a business

Advice for newly established entrepreneurs is available through the Enterprise Finland Telephone Service at +358 295 020 500 and on the Suomi.fi/company website.

For making a business plan and performance plan, make an appointment at an enterprise consultant at the nearest Enterprise Agency or any other regional business service. The advisory services are free of charge. The plans are needed as attachments to your financing applications. 

You can prepare a business plan, for example, using the business plan tool on the Job Market Finland website.

You can submit your application for start-up grant to the nearest TE Office. The start-up grant is discretionary social assistance provided to an entrepreneur by the state. The start-up grant is personal and taxable income, which is paid to the entrepreneurs to cover their living costs.

To find about the start-up grant situation in your area, consult the nearest TE Office. You must submit your application for start-up grant before you have set up your business and before it has started operations.
