Finnvera guarantees Tallink's vessel order from Rauma
Rauma Marine Constructions' shipyard is building a new shuttle vessel for Tallink. Finnvera has granted Tallink a EUR 196.7 million buyer credit guarantee with a repayment period of 12 years. The lender is the German bank KfW IPEX-Bank GmbH.
The guarantee agreement was signed in July 2019.
The vessel is fuelled by liquefied natural gas (LNG), which has lower sulfur and carbon dioxide emissions than conventional diesel engines. Construction work began at the Rauma shipyard in April 2020, and the ship is scheduled to start operating in early 2022 on the Helsinki-Tallinn route. The 212-meter vessel has 2,800 passengers and a vehicle capacity of 750 vehicles.
