Finnvera participates in Meyer Turku’s construction financing

Finnvera guarantees Meyer Turku’s financing for Icon 3 passenger cruise vessel under construction, the amount of the financing to be approximately EUR 1 billion. The guarantee agreement was signed on 29 November 2024.

Meyer Turku Oy is one of the world's leading cruise ship builders. The Meyer Turku shipyard in Turku, Finland specializes in building highly demanding and innovative ships. Meyer Turku's shipbuilding history dates back to 1737, and it has been owned by the Meyer family since 2014.

The Icon-class ships are the world's most advanced and the most environmentally friendly cruise ships of their owner, Royal Caribbean Cruises. In addition to Icon of the Seas, which was delivered in 2023, and Star of the Seas, which will be completed in summer 2025, the third cruise ship in the Icon Class will be launched in 2026.
