Document publicity description

Finnvera’s financing operations include the performance of a public administration task that is governed by the Act on the Openness of Government Activities, 621/1999. Finnvera is also subject to a confidentiality obligation similar to that of banks, according to which all customer information, including information on customer relationships, is confidential (section 5 of the Act on the State-Owned Specialised Financing Company). Interested parties also have the right of access to information on matters pertaining to themselves. Finnvera also applies the principle of openness to its financing operations in accordance with the Act on the Openness of Government Activities. This description lists Finnvera’s key public datasets.

Finnvera plc and its subsidiary Finnish Export Credit Ltd form an information management entity.

The information management entity must maintain a description of the information pools and case register maintained by it in accordance with section 28 of the Act on Information Management in Public Administration (906/2019). The description is prepared for the implementation of document publicity and openness in administration. The document publicity description makes it easier for citizens to target their requests for information.

In accordance with the Act on Information Management in Public Administration, Finnvera maintains a case register of the matters it processes and the related documents in a case management system. 

Information pools refer to the totality of data generated in the performance of tasks.

Requests for information addressed to Finnvera and other enquiries concerning the information are requested to be submitted to Finnvera's registry where they are registered for monitoring deadlines. The registry forwards the requests to the right party in the organisation for responding. There is no set format for requesting information, but the request must specify the requested documents as clearly as possible.
