Financing from Finnvera for Viking’s new ship

Finnvera’s subsidiary Finnish Export Credit Ltd is a lender in the post-delivery credit granted for the new Viking Grace ship delivered today to Viking Line. The credit sum is about EUR 180 million, or approximately 70 per cent of the vessel price.

The credit was granted on terms corresponding to OECD export credits, i.e. the repayment period is 12 years and the credit was under 80 per cent of the purchase price. Finnvera guaranteed 50 per cent of the credit granted by its subsidiary.

Finnish Export Credit received funding for the credit from the State of Finland, under the item for Finnish Export Credit’s loans for domestic ship deliveries, approved in the Supplementary Budget of 2010.

Finnvera also guaranteed pre-delivery financing to STX Finland for the building of the ship.
